Kittrell & Associates Interior Design was established in Newport Beach in 1998 and just celebrated its 11th successful year in business, and is now managed from the owner’s new studio in Turtle Rock, California. The firms serves all of Southern California with travel to other areas by special arrangement. Designer, Chris Kittrell, CID and Allied Member ASID, has won five ASID Design Awards in the past 5 years - three Gold Awards for Excellence in Kitchen Design, a Platinum for Excellence in Home Office Design, and most recently, the 2009 “Home of the Year” as featured in Orange Coast Magazine, November, 2009.
Chris earned her Certified Interior Designer status by passing the CQRID and California State Building Codes Test. She attends continuing education classes to remain current in her industry, and also teaches design on a part time basis. Custom homes and remodeling kitchens and baths are specialty areas for Kittrell, and the firm has successfully designed homes under construction from 2,700 SF to 11,000SF. If you are just “updating” spaces, Chris offers a wide range of home furnishing resources, and her finished interiors range from traditional to transitional to contemporary or whatever style Clients desire. Chris has strong relationships with builders and contractors who refer her again and again, because of her ability to work as a team to keep projects running smoothly and meet construction deadlines.
Chris also has an extensive business and education background. “We pride ourselves in taking a business-like and professional approach to each project” Kittrell notes, “and we work efficiently, cutting down the overwhelming number of choices Clients want to make, which saves Clients time and money in the long run”. Our design fees are a small percentage of Clients’ overall budgets and end results are always beautiful and livable.
Background
Chris Kittrell holds a BA in Art Education, an MBA from Loyola Marymount University and an AA in Interior Design from Interior Designer’s Institute in Newport Beach, where she is also part time faculty. She is a Certified Interior Designer and has been an active contributor to ASID as an Allied Member and volunteer.

Chris was chosen as the ASID Design Chair for the Philharmonic House of Design, 2008, overseeing 27 volunteer ASID designers, as they created the 8,500 SF showcase home built in Crystal Cover by Stonefield Development.
Kittrell and Associates participated as a designer in the Philharmonic House of Design 2006, designing the Master Bath in the custom home in Covenant Hills, built by Mulvaney & Company, and in the prior year designed the Home Office. Many of her residential designs have been published in Orange County magazines and the OC Register’s Home and Garden section.
